Most Common Carpet Cleaning
Rip-Offs and How to Avoid Them
Rip-off #1: An unbelievably low price - Most people are attracted to a low price, because they are within a
budget and want to save money.  Some carpet cleaners distribute ads / fliers claiming to clean a room at an
extremely low price and then when they arrive at your home or office, they use high-pressure sales tactics to get
you to purchase additional services.  They will also want to charge you for common spots on the carpet which
should be removed from general cleaning.  Most of the time, if you do not accept their offers you will get what is
sometimes referred to as a "splash and dash" cleaning.  This is typically just a wet vacuum, and then they are
out the door, and most of the time their work is not guaranteed.  Remember, it is true when people say, "You get
what you pay for."

Rip-off #2: Bait and Switch - Many carpet cleaners will quote a reasonable price over the phone so they can
get into your home.  Once they are in your home, you may find out that the price you were quoted, doesn't
include pre-vacuuming, pre-spotting and other services that should normally be included in your cleaning.  They
will charge extra for every little thing imaginable, and when it is time to pay the bill, it may have tripled or even
quadrupled in some cases.  To avoid this very common rip-off that is used by many carpet cleaners, always be
sure to ask questions.  Find out exactly what is included in your service and what may be an extra charge to you.

Rip-off #3: Unsupported claims like: "We can remove all stains." -  There are some spots that can react
with the color of your carpet such as a red juice drink.  Although we do have products available to remove the
red dye from the spill, sometimes these stains are permanent.  Pet urine is another stain that can sometimes be
easy to remove, while other times it may have dyed the color of the carpet, making the stain permanent.  We
can definitely remove all of the residue from the stain leaving your carpets clean and fresh, but some stains can
be permanent.  The best thing to do is clean up all spills immediately and schedule for a professional cleaning
as soon as possible.  To avoid this rip-off, be sure to ask if their claim is supported by a money back guarantee.
